SMS notifications
EchoTap sends optional new-greeting alerts via SMS, and only to members who have explicitly turned them on. This page describes those alerts, how to opt in, and how to opt out. Sign-in security codes are sent separately by our login provider when you sign in; they are standard authentication, not part of these optional alerts and not a subscription.
EchoTap is the consumer brand of SearchBrook, LLC. “EchoTap” is a registered fictitious business name (DBA) of SearchBrook, LLC (Los Angeles County FBN #2026116499), the business that operates this SMS program.
How members opt in
New-greeting alerts are off by default. A member receives them only after explicitly turning them on. No number is ever enrolled without an affirmative opt-in action, and opting in is never required to use EchoTap.
- In-app at
Account → Notifications. A signed-in member switches the new-greeting alerts toggle on. It stays off until they do, and they can switch it off again at any time from the same screen. - Public consent form at EchoTap.io/sms. Anyone can submit a US mobile number with an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox. The page discloses what the alerts are, message frequency, msg/data rates, and STOP/HELP keywords before submission.
Members can opt out at any time using the toggle in Account → Notifications, by removing their phone number entirely, or by replying STOP to any EchoTap SMS.
What we send
- New-greeting alert. Sent when another member of a card or group you belong to records a new greeting, and only if you have turned alerts on. Example: New echo from Alex in Sunday Brunch Crew on EchoTap. https://echotap.io/group/abc123 Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
Sign-in security codes are not part of this program. They are sent by our login provider when you sign in and are standard account authentication, not a subscription.
Message frequency
Frequency varies. Most members receive fewer than 10 messages per week. Members who belong to several active groups may receive more.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message to opt out of all EchoTap SMS notifications. Reply HELP for assistance, or email support@echotap.io. Members can also disable notifications from inside the app at Account → Notifications.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. Carrier charges are the responsibility of the recipient.
Privacy & sharing
Phone numbers collected for SMS notifications are used only to deliver the messages described above. We do not sell or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes.
