General

Account, privacy, and everything that spans the product line.

  • What is EchoTap?

Static is boring. Echotap turns ordinary objects into living video moments. Tap a bracelet, scan a card, open a journal, and watch the people who matter speak to you.

  • What is an Echo?

An Echo is what we call the messages you send to each other on Echotap. Messages bouncing back to the people you love. A video, a hello, a happy birthday, a thanks for being here. Like a tweet, but it never gets buried in a feed.

  • Is EchoTap free?

Yes. You pay for the card. Everything else (recording, watching, sharing, the highlight reel) is included. A premium tier is coming with more features.

  • Where are my videos stored?

On our private servers, visible only to people in your group. We don't post them to social media, sell them to advertisers, or use them to train AI. You can also save any video to your own camera roll anytime.

  • How do I report a problem or request a feature?

Email support@echotap.io. We read every message and answer within 24 hours most days. Screenshots and short screen recordings help a lot.

  • How do I sign in?

Echotap signs you in with a magic link sent to your email, or your Google account. No password needed.

  • How do I change my email?

Email support@echotap.io with proof you own the old email and a phone number where we can reach you. We'll verify and update your account within 24 hours.

  • Who can see my Echos?

Anyone who can scan the QR code, tap the bracelet, or follow the link. If you want them kept private, only share access with people you trust, and be thoughtful about who you invite to your group. A private mode is coming soon as a premium feature.

  • Does EchoTap work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, both. Echotap runs in any modern phone browser, no app to download. iPhones from the last several years support NFC tap, and so do most Android phones. If your phone doesn't tap, you can always scan the QR code with your camera instead.

Greeting Cards

Video greeting cards that come to life when the recipient scans.

  • What is an EchoTap Greeting Card?

A physical greeting card with an EchoTap QR code on it. Friends record their messages, the person you love scans the card, and watches every one. Birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, holidays, the moments worth keeping.

  • How do I set up a Greeting Card?

After you buy a card, scan the QR code and create your account. Name the group ("Mom's 70th Birthday"), add the event date and a cover photo if you want, and record your first greeting. Then share the link so friends can add theirs.

  • How do contributors record their greetings?

The buyer taps "Invite friends" and shares the link. Anyone who taps the link signs in, records their greeting, and Echotap adds it to the feed.

  • How do they watch the greetings?

When you give them the physical card, they scan the QR code. The greetings open in their phone browser, no app to download. They watch and swipe up for the next one. You can also forward the link directly if you want to skip the QR scan.

  • Can I add more greetings after I've given the card?

Yes. The QR code and link point to the same group forever. Often the person being celebrated records a thank-you back to everyone, and that's when the card really comes alive. A card can keep growing long after the original event.

  • Can I delete a greeting after I record it?

Yes. Open the card, find the greeting, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Delete. You can delete greetings you've sent, and the Boss of the card can delete any greeting.

  • Can I see what people recorded before I give the card?

Yes. Open the card in your dashboard anytime to watch every greeting that's been added. As the Boss of the card, you can delete anything that doesn't fit before handing it over.

  • What's a compilation video?

One video file with every greeting stitched together, so you can download it and save it to your phone or computer. A way to keep the whole card in one place, even if you stop using Echotap.

Echo Friendship

Friendship bracelets that carry the people you love on your wrist.

  • What is an Echo Friendship bracelet?

A bracelet with a secret. Tap it to your phone and a private feed opens, full of short video, audio, and photo messages from the people in your group. Sold in pairs and multi-packs, so you and your friends can wear them together and share what you're up to without filling up your camera roll.

  • How do I record an echo?

Tap your phone to your bracelet and your feed opens. Tap Reply to record an Echo. Shoot video, record audio, or take a photo, then hit Send. Everyone in the group sees it in their feed.

  • Who can see my echoes?

Only people in your group. That means anyone who has a bracelet from the set or who you've invited with a link. Share access carefully. A private mode is coming as a premium feature for groups that want more control.

  • How do I invite a friend to my group?

Open your group on the dashboard and tap Invite. You'll get a short link to text or share. Anyone who taps the link and signs in is added to the group. Send it directly to people you want in. Anyone who gets the link can join.

  • Can I delete an echo after I record it?

Yes. Open the group, find the Echo, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Delete Echo. You can delete Echos you've sent, and the Boss of the group can delete any Echo.

  • What if I lose my bracelet?

Your Echos and groups live in your account, not on the bracelet. Sign in at echotap.io and you'll see everything in your dashboard. You can keep using the group without a bracelet, or buy a new one and add it to your group.

  • What if my phone won't read an NFC chip?

Most modern phones can read NFC, but if yours can't or you'd rather not tap, anyone in your group can share a direct link to the feed. Same experience, just open it from the link.

One QR code in the book opens a companion online, where they tell those same stories in their own voice and on video. Friends and family can be invited to add their memories too, automatically organized by the same chapters.

  • When will Family Keepsake Journals be available?

In time for the 2026 holiday season. The Grandparent edition launches first, with Parent and Couples editions to follow.
